BirthNet cares about protecting your personal data. This policy describes how we handle data in accordance with applicable privacy laws including GDPR.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data needed to run the service:

• Phone number: For registration and sign-in (Firebase Auth).
• Birth date: Month and day only; for calendar reminders.
• Profile photo: Optional, uploaded by you.

2. About Contacts

Important: Contact data is processed only on your device to find which of your contacts use BirthNet. Contact names and numbers are never stored on our servers.

3. Visibility of Birthday Data

Your birthday is visible only to people who have your number in their contacts and also use BirthNet.

4. Data Storage

• Server (Firebase): Phone number, birth date, and profile photo.
• Your device (local): Manually added special days.

Your data is securely stored on Google Firebase infrastructure (Google LLC).

5. Data Security

Your data is protected with encryption and secure cloud storage. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted.

7. Third-Party Services

Your data may be shared only with third-party processors required to provide the service (e.g., Firebase, Google AdMob).

8. Service Ownership

BirthNet is developed by an individual developer and is not operated by a company.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete your data and object to its processing. Account deletion removes all your data immediately.
